Anyways, I'd always been told that instead of rain (which came with Noah and the Flood), mists watered the Earth. So that's where that comes in. Since this is the account of man, I can understand why people don't think God dictated it, except for the fact that this second account acknowledges God as the creator and all of the things created are acknowledged in the correct order. Isn't this account just a brief overview of the seven days? I don't think it's a whole new account, or a different version - after all, what would be the reason to put another whole account of that story in the next chapter? This account just focuses on Man, and the special future and functions that he is goign to perform - it's just an exposition on man's position among creation. |
