This probably wasn't the scariest, but it was pretty recent so it's the only thing I can think of at the moment. Some parts may sound a little cheesy, but it's weird how coincidences work out. During summer, I get accustomed to staying up a lot later than during the school year. My night began at 8:30 when I wanted to see what date the Grudge II was going to be released. I have a file program that you can close and it'll still be "opened" in a way, just minimized to the small taskbar on the right (near the clock). So I went on the Grudge site, found the information that I was looking for, and clicked back twice so that the screen was on Google. Well three or four hours later, (on another browser) I came across a site that was playing a song from a favorite band of mine (The All-American Rejects if you were wondering :)). Because my younger sister's room is right next to mine I softly turned up the volume so that I could hear the song. A few seconds of the song and I was wondering why it sounded so weird. I pressed pause on the song and in the background I could hear this soft noise: the "Grudge Girl's Voice" as I like to describe it: staggered inward breathing. It took me a few minutes to realize where the sound was coming from - my minimized file window. I was confused to find that the screen was on Google. A little creeped out, I right clicked >> exited it. (The only sure way to exit the program.) Having a little fun, I opened up a window to have a conversation with a friend and started saying things like: ME: I'm scared ME: and alone ME: and it can sense my fear ME: that won't make her go away JESS: her? ME: her ME: I don't know her friggen name ME: but if I turn around she'll be there ME: I can hear her ME: the one who steals your voice ME: I'm afraid that I jinxed my house ME: and I'll walk down the hallway and she'll be downstairs *** ME: and she'll EAT ME Anyways. That went on for a while, and I kind of creeped myself out a bit. Not even 20 minutes later, my younger sister walks into my room. (This is around 12-1 at night. She's usually asleep hours before this.) She comes in, stands next to me and starts talking. "S-she told me to sleep in here." I froze. She? Was I not just, what, 20 minutes ago creeping myself out over a she? I knew in my head that she was sleepwalking which she does a lot when she's overtired, but I was starting to get really freaked out. I asked. "Who?" She paused. "I don't know." Then she walked out and went back to bed. Ooookay. Creepy! *** By this I was referring to the fact that I have a hallway to go down before I reach the kitchen and living room. About halfway down the hallway there's the stairs going down to our dark basement. (And there's no door, either, for fire safety.) As a kid I used to have dreams that I would stand at the top of the stairs looking down into the darkness and all the sudden I'd see figures coming up. I'd run and hide under our wooden eating table which is in plain view of the hallway. So there's my reference to why I was joking about getting eaten along the hallway - "she" might be hiding in the darkness. |
