I want a puppy. My own puppy. We already have a family dog, but he's old and not fun. And we're not exactly on speaking terms. So I want my very own puppy. But my parents wont let me get one because they don't think I'm "responsible" enough. pfft.
I plan on getting an italian greyhound, because that is what we currently have, and they're my favorite breed. I already know how to take care of a dog, obviously, but they think that since it's not all my responsibility to take care of the family dog that I would flake out after a few weeks. But I wouldn't! I swear I wouldn't! Have you ever been this predicament? And how did you convince your folks that you can handle it? |

Well, you already said you know how to take care of a dog. But don't just tell your parents you're responsible, show them. Do more with your current dog, even though it's "old and boring," because someday, your adorable puppy is going to be that way as well.
Also, if you can, they might be more inclined to let you have a puppy if you offer to pay for it. (Not just buying it, but paying for its food, vet appts, etc.) |
