So it seems as if A.F.I. has been going through yet another stage of their "musical development" as the past couple of albums. However, it seems as if decemberunderground has been their most transitional to date in my eyes. Along with achieving success during the last half a decade through continuous airplay on some mainstream rock radios, A.F.I. seems to have entered a phase of more mainstream poppy and rock sounds. A generous amount of the tracks on here like "Kill Caustic" have an influence from the screamo/emo world while others such as "Love Like Winter" seem to have a more ambient-electronic tone. What I found the oddest was that a few songs even include some industrial beats (thanks to the help Ronan Harris of VNV Nation). It's not my favorite overall album of theirs, but some tracks are definately worth listening to.

What do you guys think of decemberunderground?
