i searched and couldn't find if there was a previous topic on this subject. if this is double, mods, please close. _smile.gif

i was wondering what some members experienced in the kitchen. what was your worst moment during cooking? what was your proudest achievement?

my proudest achievement: it was my friends birthday so i decided to bake her a cheesecake. it was my first try and it came out great. hehe. i would definitely want to try again. it's a classic cheesecake with a graham cracker crust and a strawberry sauce topping.

after:

my worst moment: i left the manual for my toaster oven in said oven and turned it on, forgetting that there was paper in there. needless to say, poof! a small fire occured. nothing big happened... except i felt like a complete moron. sweating.gif

Maybe the time my seventh grade teacher told me and my friend to check on the soup in the staffroom (we were good students and it wasn't too big of a deal to miss some class). We totally burnt the bottom and scraped the burnt bits up into the soup, lol. We also added stuff like coffee whitener to it. Yum.

Recent catastrophes include a chocolate cake that we made, which was okay looking at first, but we screwed the top up majorly (long story). So we put icing on it.

Before:

I realize it doesn't look as bad as I say it does, but the icing was oozing out white liquid, and it was...gross.

So we took out cookie cutters, white chocolate chips and heart shaped sprinkles.

After:

Haha. Chocolate cake pimp and the ladies. =p
