^but that's a really messy way to serve it. the wrapping will slip and slid off when people try to eat it. also fried dough is extremely hard to work with after it's fried. it's weak and crispy so it breaks easily.
i've said before that my best friend's family owns a japanese restaurant. many people asked her how it's done. they shape the ice cream balls and freeze them till they are hard and then they wrap in a shell of pound cake (which was also chilled beforehand). they freeze that a little bit more then dunk it in batter. they toss it in hot oil long enough for the batter outside to turn crispy. when it's served, the ice cream is still cold but some of it has melted and just swims around... i think i need to go to my friend's house... ![]() |
