so there are lots and lots of ideas for what girls should get guys for their birthday but how about the other way around? and ime xpected to spend a whole day on her birthday with my gf but im kinda out of ideas :( help appreciated?

It depends on who you're dating. Think about what she likes. Is she one that liked video games or jewelry, you know?
I say you make her something and take her out to dinner.  Oh! OR a mix cd of songs that shows what you think about her/memorable songs from your relationship (a lot of couples have 'their song' etc) I'm so cheesy and cliche.
