Space Shuttles amaze me. They're 40 year old hardware, yet they outperform everything the world puts out. Not even the Buran could match it. Discovery launch was a success, but it seems like no one cares. It's probably the largest rocket you'll see go up today, yet it seems to me that more people are excited to see the fireworks show.

Yeah I'm kinda surprised they arent talking about it that much on tv.
But it seems like they were really wanting to have the launch today, on the 4th of July (even though there were several problems with the foam and backup stuff). Oh well. I'm really hoping its not a repeat of Columbia. I live about 2 hours from Kennedy space center, so I watched it from my backyard.
