forgetting Options

Okay. Today, I came up to my teacher to give her my late assignment.

She asked me why I gave her right now.

I told her that I didn’t do it over the weekend because I totally forgot about it. Unusually, she didn’t write down the assignments on the board that the class needed to complete. Since I had a hearing disability, I’m not really good at catching information by verbal in air.

Then she says, "That was your choice not to do it".

I was confused; I didn’t really choose not to do it.
i know it's my mistake for not remembering it.

I always turned in every assignment.
For some reason, I didn’t turn in the assignment this time.

the question is: is forgetting a choice or not ?

Its not a choice, but it isn't an excuse either. Though it is valid, your teacher doesn't know that. If it became acceptable, everyone would blame their failures on forgetfulness.

Thats kind of true in a way.But everyoen says its an excuse when you say you forgot because the majority of people do actually forget things they should remember and after it becomes a habit of forgetting things,it became under the word EXCUSE.Or "that was you choicE"or all those other b-tchy remarks.

As a result yes i think to forget its when it just slips like when i go to the store for my mom which is all the time.She will tell me to get things she need for the house like fabuloso,swavitel,sofrito for food,bread,milk e.t.c,I will forget one out of the whole thing because it honestly just slips my mind.So yeah i think its just because it slips >.<
