For the past few months my mom didn't care about my grades and all (she used to cry about it <_<) I got used to her not caring then my report card came in the mail yesterday and I got straight B's (which I thought would disappoint her). But instead she took us out to Outback to celebrate... <_< the next day she told me to study more when the school year begins <__< why are my parents weird?

Maybe I don't understand, but I don't think it's weird.
If she didn't care before, maybe she just didn't want to show her 'disappointment' and was scared it would affect you and how you associated her reactions and your grades. I mean, you say she didn't care--she could've been angry and upset, but she wasn't, she just "didn't care"--so that when you did good, she acknowledged it and appreciated it. I think that's good. Sometimes I would get motivated [eh. subconsciously] to fail just to spite my mom. If she didn't care, I wouldn't have any pressure from her to do better or worse--I'd just do my best. And maybe that's what you did. Good? |
