Chinese author, and her stories are based on Chinese backgrounds and lifestyle. I've read The Joy Luck Club (and I just found out that it's my summer reading for next year, which means that I have to read it again), The Kitchen God's Wife, and my recent read, Saving Fish from Drowning (new, came out dec 05).

I loved The Joy Luck Club and The Kitchen God's Wife, when I read them in 8th grade. :]
