So, Brandon and I were sitting in the living room last night, talking, about to get ready for bed. Before leaving the room, Brandon went over to feed the fish, a nice female betta we've had for a few months now. He was looking around the bowl and couldn't see her anywhere. That's when I came over to help him investigate. As I was looking around, trying to make sense of how our fish had suddenly just disappeared, Brandon gasped and pointed near my feet.
That damned fish had somehow gotten out of the bowl and fallen from the top of the bookshelf, all the way down to the floor. WTF?! How? Well, we flushed the poor thing and had a nice moment for her.. What happened to our fish?! Thoughts? Opinions? Where's Sylvia Brown when I need her? |

![]() Poor fishy. Bettas..my bio teach told me that a betta will kill itself ramming into the side of the glass tank if it sees it's reflection. Maybe she just saw something ? yea its true my friend had two bettas and she knew they were really um violent so she put them in separate bowls but she put them NEXT TO each other and one jumped out of its bowl and bit the eye off the other one before my friend came to separate them TRUE STORY :D -edit- ok i looked it up on wikipedia for proof "The capacity to turn aggressive behaviour on and off by using a mirror, without putting the subject at the risk of physical damage inherent in staging an actual aggressive conflict, made the fish a popular subject of study by ethologists and comparative psychologists interested in studying aggression." and there's more on wiki about how they attack their own reflections betta fish aka "Siamese fighting fish" |
