hm. At the end of last year I was 4th out of 300ish. Now, I'm probably somewhere in between 10 and 20. It sucks, because people taking CP courses can make all As and have a higher GPA than me taking IB courses and making Bs. GRRRRRRRRR!

But we have a remedy for your gripe. Our school is on a 5.0 GPA system. But if you get an A in an honors or AP class, that class counts as a 6.0. If you get a B, you get a 5.0, putting you on par with those who got A's in regular classes. So... there's rampant GPA inflation here as people scramble to pump up their GPAs (myself included). There's only like 523 kids in my class. Oh btw, to all you people who have a school that doesn't TELL you what your rank is... all you have to do is go to the registrar and ask to see your transcript. She might balk and tell you to fill out a request and pay a buck or something... but you can get your rank easy. Our school doesn't put ranks on report cards (they used to... but they stopped), but you get your rank once a year from your counselor when you go to register for next year's classes. |
