i got a really bad burn today and i was wondering what you guys do to help it. my friends said that if you put lotion on it, the burn will turn into a tan. i usually use after sun aloe stuff but that doesn't work very well for me. so what do you use?

Pain and redness from a sunburn usually peak after about 24 hours, and blisters sometimes follow. Follow these steps as soon as it becomes apparent that you've got a burn.
Steps: 1. Take a cool bath or shower and gently pat yourself dry. 2. Cover the sunburned area with 100 percent aloe vera gel, hydrocortisone cream or sunburn lotion. 3. Apply cool, wet compresses to the burned area whenever you need relief from the heat. 4. Take aspirin or ibuprofen several times a day to reduce pain and inflammation. Wear loose-fitting clothing to avoid irritating the burn. 5. Avoid breaking any water blisters. Apply antibacterial ointment to any that break on their own. Vaseline by eHow Friend I recently fell asleep in the swimming pool for 30 minutes while it was cloudy, and despite the fact I was wearing factor 30, I still got burnt to a crisp. I have tried everything, aloe, after sun, Calamine lotion, etc. As a last resort I put Vaseline on the burn and it has done absolute wonders! it helped me too ;D |
