Sometimes I say that being single is better, funner, etc.. but at the end of the day I sometimes find that my only reason for saying so is to make myself feel better.

Well I'm sort of in the weird position because *points to self* mom. Having said that, I LOVE being single. I have major commitment issues and I'm really particular about who I hang out with (I can't bring myself to saying "dating" LOL).
Part of this might be that both my mom and my sister always had this incessant need to be in a relationship. I never understood it. I love my freedom, I need my freedom. I look at it this way. And back to my first sentence, the "weird position". Well, as a single parent, I feel expected and/or obliged to *have* to be in a relationship. As if it's a societal mandate. Still single, still loving it. Mandates schmandates. :) |
