Three
Poem; Published in the Poetry.com's The Colors of Life

Three were at the gate that night
Two were in my sight
The Third had climbed atop my tree
I did not know that there were three
Three times I asked them who they were
Three times I asked them why they were
The last question was all I heard
I did not live to see over me, the birds
Three times did you visit my grave
Eight times at least once a day, did save
Granted that each day you prayed, you did
not wish me undead until this night
Three times I cried, not knowing why
Three times did I reach down from the sky
Three times I thought of you that night
I saw you none, but I did not fight
Three, it seems comes too often,
But my life and love weren't forgotten
