Has racism ever had an effect on you?
Not just being called racist slurs, but actually being limited in some way because of race.

Something like this happend to my parents a few years ago.

I know my parents went to some foriegn store our of the U.S. (Rome I think it was) and stood in line to buy some things. When it was my parent's turn, the cashier ignored then but, continued serving people that were even behind my parents. My parents didn't get helped until my father complained. It was supposedly because my parents are Filipino.

I've bee discriminated against in many situations, and sometimes I feel awkward being the only minority among my friends. I'm half Japanese, 1/2 Brazilian

Throughout school in America, things were quite odd. People didn't know what to label me as. In fact when racism was a topic in a class one, everyone's eyes sort of shifted towards me. Most had assumed I was African American, but that was something I wasn't aware of. Then adter I had finally made a friend, we were talking about ethnicity and after it was my turn, everyone gave me that same shocked look. It was then revealed then they thought I was African American. I was somewhat taken back myself, but continued on.

In another situation there was a bake sale, and a white man approached the table, and I politely offered him some of the items along the table. He said no, then as my back was turned I heard him mutter N***** and then o buy something from a less enthusiastic white student, coincidentally one of my friends. Most of the time, I can let stuff roll off my back, but I nearly broke down in tears, then anger built up in me, wanting to decapitate him. But I held that in until later on.

And that is just a sample of things throughout my life.
