Anyone heard of it? I was doing some googling and this came up. I Amazon'd it and saw many good reviews, and now I'm curious to watch it. XDXD

what i find most perplexing is that you are actually judging the movie based solely on the movie poster. you did not bother to see even a plot summary, let alone a movie trailer or the actual movie .. but i guess judging by the movie poster your 'irratations' are somewhat reasonable

It's not a person, Steven. That's what they're for- to attract attention. If it instantaneously deters me, why would I bother to look it up further?

QUOTE(push kicks @ May 31 2006, 9:04 PM) *
i think online trailers. tv commercials, and in theatre previews tell much more. a movie poster can only tell so much. for example, if i had saw the movie poster for "The Ringer", i would have thought Johnny Knoxville was making fun of retarded kids .. but as the movie evidenced, that is not the case

But why would go out of my way to watch a trailer if the movie hadn't appealed to me in some way in the first place? Sure they tell more, but if they're not being shoved in your face, you have to be introduced another way. Hence, the posters. If the posters are unapplealing, I'm hardly going to waste my time finding out everything about it I can, just to see whether or not I should take it seriously.

I think that's why posters are good, actually. I don't watch much tv, so I don't see many commercials, and I almost never watch online trailers unless I have a reason to, so I'm most likely to see a movie exists through a poster. Anyway, that's good because I also don't want the movie's entire plot ruined for me before I go and see the movie. Unless I've been waiting to see it, I like to have that aspect of uncertainty about the movie. But hey, maybe that's just me.

Oh, and even as a satire, this still doesn't interest me in the remotest. Not my kind of comedy, so I think my feels stay the same, to an extent.

well then, you are a minority and you are only speaking for yourself .. im sure most people gain knowledge of a movie through tv commercials, in movie previews, and online trailers .. and there is no denying that any one of the previously stated mediums provides more INFORMATION than a 1 dimensional movie poster .. anyways.. back on topic
