I've just returned to CB, and I feel so lost because I don't seem to know anybody anymore! However, I don't want to post a cliche survey because (a) it probably has already been posted and (b) I never care about the questions in those surveys. So here's a list of probing questions that would give me and the rest of the community a better idea of who each of you are, not what your favorite band is or if you've ever smoked pot or gone skinny-dipping. So here goes:
(1) What is your name? (2) Choose three adjectives to describe yourself. (3) What/Who has (or has had) the greatest influence on your life right now and why? (4) What in your life do you value the most and why? (5) Whom in your life do you value the most and why? (6) What, do you believe, is your purpose on earth? (7) What, so far, have your contributed to the world? (8) Do you portray yourself to others in a way that is contrary to who you really are? (9) Pick a quote or two by which you live your life. (10) Is there anything you would like to change about yourself or your life? (11) What is your favorite place to be and why? (12) Describe your life in five words or less. (13) What are you genuinely interested in? (14) If money were not an issue, what would you do with your life? Go crazy, kids. |

Yes. It isn't a brainless survey, for once.
(1) What is your name? Kayla, however much that contradicts my username. (2) Choose three adjectives to describe yourself. Seemingly quiet, easily embarrassed, and somewhat witty. (Yes, those do count as one each). (3) What/Who has (or has had) the greatest influence on your life right now and why? My piano teacher, actually. She taught me so much more than just scales and note names and rhythms, she actually taught me morals. Sticking to your opinion. Living for yourself. Et cetera. But now she's moving out to Pearland, and I have to find another one who definitely won't fill her shoes. (4) What in your life do you value the most and why? My intellect. I thank God that I'm somewhat intelligent, and I'm not face down in a ditch because of some stupid decision I've made. (5) Whom in your life do you value the most and why? I actually value my sister, as weird as it might sound. She's fun. She isn't afraid to be just as crazy as I am. She actually understands my opinions about things- primarily our parents. I think I'd die without her, however corny it sounds. (6) What, do you believe, is your purpose on earth? I can't say I really know, yet. Maybe to treat people for who they really are. I'm not one to judge people- sometimes I say I could have been born without the sense of sight, and I'd treat people the same without seeing them. (7) What, so far, have your contributed to the world? Well, I..write. I wrote an entire tutorial for a forum, and I've written a lot of stories, however bad they might be. (8) Do you portray yourself to others in a way that is contrary to who you really are? Yes yes yes. I'm extremely shy. People don't know me, because I don't talk. It's a phobia for me, talking to people I don't know. (9) Pick a quote or two by which you live your life. "I don't like to face problems head on. I think the best way to solve problems is to avoid them. This is a distinct philosophy of mine. No problem is so complicated that it can't be ran away from!" Yay for the Peanuts. I hate to admit it, but I avoid my problems. (10) Is there anything you would like to change about yourself or your life? I'd really like to be able to show people who I really am. Because I'm so shy and reserved, people assume I'm stuck up and boring, though in reality, I think, I'm interesting and not stuck up. At all. As a result, I don't get to know people as much as I'd like to, and lack the social guts to speak up for myself. (11) What is your favorite place to be and why? Outside. In Central Park during the spring time, because it's beautiful and I actually feel at peace when I'm there. Or underneath a tree in Autumn. We don't get much of the changing leaves here in Texas, but whenever I'm visiting during autumn, I love to see the changing leaves. It's kind of a symbolic thing for me. (12) Describe your life in five words or less. Waking up no different everyday. (Does that make sense? Five words doesn't give you much elaboration.) (13) What are you genuinely interested in? Music. I play the cello and piano, and love them both (though I like piano better, I admit), and love listening, too. I love to read, and I love to think. To just sort through my thoughts and figure out what I think about everything. And writing. I love love love to write. (14) If money were not an issue, what would you do with your life? Hrm. I'm...not sure. I'd move, that's a definite thing, I'd move somewhere in Europe, probably, Greece! I love Greece. It's beautiful there. |
