I don't understand. I have friends that say they are depressed. They have no reason to. Maybe if they were starving to death and lived in Africa, maybe they might have a reason, but they live a normal American suburban life. It's ridiculous. Does anyone agree with me, or no?

QUOTE Agreed, Stately Lover. Depression is NOT just something you can just 'get over'--it's a psychological disorder. If you get over it after 2 days, it is not depression. It was just a stage of being sad. Depression is not easy to overcome, and to do so takes the help of trained psychologists and (sometimes) psychiatrists. Depression may or may not require medication, but it does require professional help. Depression is a disorder. Sadness is an emotion. Get it straight, people! i don't think you need psychiatrists to get over depression.. People can overcome anything if they really want to. |
