Okay so my parents arent around all the time because theyre super busy with their jobs. Now, My parents seem to think that they can in a way "buy" my love. They get me WHAT EVER I WANT and they NEVER GROUND ME. I guess its like well i dont spend enough time with you so ill get you loads of things to take your mind off it. Do you think thats right?

I don't think that it is a good thing. I mean, my mom is around all the time, basically, but there are just things that go wrong when parents buy you everything you want and don't discipline you. They are suppost to be around to teach you things. I always hear how everyone hates their parents because they get grounded or whatever. I mean, I complain about that stuff too sometimes, but it's like, I know she's just looking out for my best interest. I'm young and I need her around to give me advice so that I don't screw my life up in the long run. And when you have parents who buy you everything and don't ground you, how do you think you will treat your kids, or even yourself? I know that people have the capacity to change how they live, but alot of people just go with the cycle.
Your parents are probably very good parents, it's just that today's society everyone one needs to work to make ends meet. Partially it's not their fault. It's just today's society and different little things. Maybe they are just compensating that they can't spend time with you so they spend their money instead and are lenient with you. I don't know. I'm just an observer. I haven't had a dad for a long long time and now it's so hard because I my mom just got married a couple years ago, and it's so hard that there's this new person there setting rules. You should really just discipline yourself. Get your life straight now cause you're going to be miserable later on. |
