alright, me and my friend Daniel were just messing around with our friend Frank, 'cause he got a haircut. just Once. but all of the sudden he starts cussing us out. let me tell you, I was not in a good mood already and so of course I felt horrible. when I tried to apologize he simply said F U. I was so shocked, all I've ever been was nice to him. I Swear to God it's true. and now he even put me on his "sh*t list". I felt so guilty and being already partly depressed I cried. and now I have to see him at school and I don't think I can..
do you think he's overreacting or am I being a baby? |

Sometimes people have something they're really sensitive about that they try to shield and repress to be nice and friendly, but if you push them the wrong way, they get really upset. For example, I'm fairly short (5' 2"), and for the most part I don't mind. But if the wrong person makes a crack about it, or someone says something at the wrong time, or they say it in a way that I don't perceive as a joke, I can get a bit defensive. For instance, I don't like the shop for clothes because it's hard to find anything in my size. I have a friend that comes along to help me out a lot (because let's be honest, I have little to no fashion sense). She occasionally makes jokes about my height and I usually don't mind, but shopping for clothes is a bad time to make a joke, because I'm already pretty sensitive about it as it is--so she knows not to do that.
In other words, maybe something was bothering Frank. Maybe he was having a bad day. Maybe he really doesn't like his haircut. Maybe you embarassed him in front of someone he didn't want to be embarassed in front of. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. Just say you're sorry and tell him you didn't mean to hurt his feelings. |
