alright, so i'm in this relationship with a guy. and we've been at it for a year and a half. the only thing that bothers me is that he rarely shows much affection. i mean, we talk to each other and stuff like that, and we've gone on a couple of dates. the only "intimate" thing we've ever done was hug and give a few gifts to each other. but sometimes he's so confusing. it seems as if he ignores me at some points, and i'm always the one who makes the first move to do something. my friends even went to verify whether or not he still likes me because they weren't sure if he did. but he still does...
ahhh. anyways. i really like him alot, but he's the most confusing, somewhat shy guy i've ever met. what should i do? it's so awkward to keep asking him out on dates and stuff since he's so...shy. and it's kind of embarassing to ask stuff like this on some forum with people you don't even know. but that can sometimes be a good thing...

I think that maybe in the beginning, he wasn't sure of what to do, and now that you two are so into the relationship, he's gotten used to being the submissive one. But you need to explain to him that a relationship is an equal partnership, so he needs to take charge every once in a while, instead of leaving you to be the one to take care of things.
Just have a talk with him and tell him how you feel.
