Thank God for Dead Soldiers, "God's punishment" Options

This woman's father organizes people to go to the funerals of soldiers from iraq, holding signs saying "thank god for dead soldiers".

"God is punishing this nation, and one of his wepons of choice is sending your children home from battle, dead."

How do all of you feel about that? Do you think that these people have the right to intrude on something as solemn as a funeral, to shame these people and the dead soilder? Do you guys think that God is really "punishing the nation"?

I'm not condoning the war, and i'm DEFINATLEY not agreeing with this woman or her "church", but i also do not believe that it's the soldiers' fault we're there.

Quite frankly i can't believe insane people like that exsist.

I got to tell you.. I'm a strong believer of christianity BUT this woman and her church is an embarassment to the christian society. NOT only do the "Christian" God shows justice/wrath he ALSO shows mercy. These people gots it all wrong. They basically believe that "if you do something bad, then God will punish you." Yes but He is a forgiving God. You don't go all around forcing people to seek forgiveness, that doesn't really show the true love that God wants christians to give. Christianity is all about free will. You choose to accept life or death, or basically the right thing or the wrong. They should be ashamed of themselves. They need to read the bible in WHOLE, not in context. And they dare to say that they hate jews? The bible says that Jews and gentiles are not different. I'm ashame of this woman and her church, people like these is what makes non-christians doubt christianity.

Most definitely.

I can't say that these people are stupid, because really, you're allowed to believe whatever you want to believe, no matter how insane it sounds.

But I myself, if I was really religious, would believe that God would be a merciful being, not one who would punish soldiers who probably didn't want to be in this war in the first place. I mean, doesn't this church realize that? Don't they know how many people are currently against this war? They must be blind..

And how dare this woman and her church befowl a funeral like that? If she came to the funeral of my son acting that way, I would have called the cops on her ass.
