My friends and I were talking about this a few weeks ago, about how if you really believe that something is the truth, would it be considered lying, if others knew it wasn't?

So to put what my friends and I discussed into what this topic is about, I'll have to ask this: What if an absolutely-horrid-looking girl/guy truly believed that they were attractive, and flaunted theirselves like so (despite whatever the entire world thinks), then would you allow for them to act/be "hot"?

If they have a high enough self-esteem with their appearance, then I think that they should be able to do something about it.

I had a friend. She smelled horrid, had bad teeth, never took her braids out, and just was overall nasty. But she honestly beleived she was by far the hottest sh*t in the world. And because she carried herself in that manner, people treated her that way. However, behind her back people had nothing but bad things to say to her. bUt heres the thing, on a bad day, and I mean a bad day, she would come to me and be like, I'm ugly, no one likes me, i have gross teeth and nasty hair, I hate myself. And I would never lie and be like noooo you dooonnnttt...cuz she did. But I would tell her it doesnt matter what others think cuz in the end it just you, and thats the truth. I mean, you let what people say about you change you, then who are you? Its like one thing if you weigh 500 pounds and your life is suffering because of it, and people are also saying stuff so u lose weight, but I mean, people call Beyonce fat and ugly and untalented, but shes out there winning grammys and making a couple mill everytime she goes outside. Shes saying eff yall, I hear what u say and I'm fabulous anyway. Why tear someone down? What good does it do them. U tell a girl who thinks shes pretty that shes actually ugly, she will forever be self concious about it. I didnt know I was chubby until I got in the 7th grade and some dude who used to like me in elem. said ew get away from me you fat ass bitch. And I was like I'm not fat. And I never realized it until that day. I went home and I stared in the mirror for hours and hours. and its not like I was wearing belly shirts or anything,but I was confident and happy with how i looked. From that day on for 3 years I wore sweatshirts tied around my waist to hide it. and I wasnt even big, and I'm still not even big. But I was happy until he said that. Now to this day I have extreme weight problems. I will probably never be happy with how I look. No matter how many people say I'm pretty or ive lost weight or whatever, because in my mind im the girl he called fat. And I didnt even like him!! But yeah. i think its better to let people delude themselves. Its selfish to crush their dreams. Its not like youre a judge in a modeling competition here. this is life and not everyone is born fabulous. Most people arent. But if you feel fabulous the last thing you want it for someone to crush that. even if youre totally stuck in 1983 and you look like a stuffed sausage.
