Here we go. Okay, When my mom was young she got pregnant when she was 17 when she married her boyfriend he turned into a complete jerk and cheated on her & abused her all that stupid stuff. Shes been divorced 2 times and now shes getting divorced again. Meanwhile, she started seeing her first boyfriend who still is a complete jerk. This really doesn't have a whole lot to do with what I'm asking but I had to tell you some backround..anyway,I'm almost at the same age now and whenever someone likes me I can never get close to them, like recently I started talking to this guy who I found out liked me for 2 years and idk I told him the lets-just-be-friends thing and whenever I do that I always feel really bad like maybe I should have gone out with them because it might have been a good relationship. He seemed like a really nice person too, I've never had anyone say they cared about me like he did. But idk if I felt the same way. What the heck is my problem.

see my friend peter was abused as a kid and then he went to go live with his god parents
he had this one really good realationship but he had bad feelings that if he suddenly loved this person and decided to get married and have kids he would treat his wife and kids the same way his dad did... he ended up locking himself away from girls that were attracted to him and those that he was attracted to... it wasnt a good result but hes gotten over that know and he knows that he is his own person and not his dad... the point is that u should live ur own life because its not necessarily gona b like ur moms...
