Definition

Some people get confused or don't really know the complete definition for "Anime" or "Otaku" is. So here are the definitions to help you out!

Anime: a style of animation originating in Japan. It is sometimes referred to by the portmanteau Japanimation. Anime is characterized by stark, colorful graphics and stylized, colorful images depicting vibrant characters in a variety of different settings and story-lines, aimed at a wide range of audiences. Anime may be broadcast on television, distributed on media such as DVDs or published as console and computer games. Anime is usually influenced by Japanese comics known as manga.


Otaku: a variety of geek (or an overly obsessed fanboy / fangirl) specializing in anime and manga.

I left the whole anime thing a while ago, and I'm getting back into it lately... Kinda odd, the older I get, the more I'm starting to love anime again...

I'm somewhat the same way actually. I love drawing anime characters and making up my own characters as well. You can find some of my pictures in Periscopic Dome below.
