Ok, this sucks major a$$, my girlfriend said tonight after an argument, "I think we just need a break", she actually said this: "i can't deal with this right now... all we do is fight... and im tired of starting over.... so give me some time... i love you, and i know you love me... just give me my space for a little while" and she said she just needs time to think because lately we have argued a lot and it is getting old for both of us, we get along very well normally, but its just the weekly petty arguments we get into that bugs us both and the one we got into at a party this weekend just topped it off. And she obviously isn't going to leave me totally, she says it in a round about way, but in talking to her friend, we both figured, maybe it is for the best, she will realize more now how good of a thing we both have.

I know we will be back together, i can guaratee that but my question is, does the length of the relationship continue once you've gotten past your break? Example: We have been together 4 months, and we are on our break, so once we are back together, does that time still count?

By the way, we are both 18, we are not middle school kids, lol, so give me your views on the situation and what you think is going on, and also i was told i was smothering her lately but my excuse for that was because my mom just died about two weeks ago and my way of dealing with it was having her with me, so i was constantly trying to see her. sad.gif help me.
