Here we go. Okay, When my mom was young she got pregnant when she was 17 when she married her boyfriend he turned into a complete jerk and cheated on her & abused her all that stupid stuff. Shes been divorced 2 times and now shes getting divorced again. Meanwhile, she started seeing her first boyfriend who still is a complete jerk. This really doesn't have a whole lot to do with what I'm asking but I had to tell you some backround..anyway,I'm almost at the same age now and whenever someone likes me I can never get close to them, like recently I started talking to this guy who I found out liked me for 2 years and idk I told him the lets-just-be-friends thing and whenever I do that I always feel really bad like maybe I should have gone out with them because it might have been a good relationship. He seemed like a really nice person too, I've never had anyone say they cared about me like he did. But idk if I felt the same way. What the heck is my problem.

well according to the background info about you mom; your probably scared about ending up like her, [not in an offensive way] but to be treated like her first boyfriend did to her, you know? you dont want to get hurt, thats good; but remember not ALL guys are the same! some have a heart. you can risk it if you'd like, or be on the safe side like you're being now....i dont find any problem here
