I normally do colourizations with Photoshop but I did this one with Illustrator. Anyone who's had experience with both programs knows that if you want to edit a photo, Photoshop is the way to go (duh, Photoshop, I know). I wanted to test the editing abilities of Illustrator.

I know there are some problems with the consistency of her hair colour and her right eyelash looks weird, but Illustrator is limited, what can I say _smile.gif She's also really pale, but eh, that's okay too.

^ Not really Carrie's fault, the eyebrow in the original would've looked that way anyway. =p

Great job considering you did this on Illustrator (I don't exactly know what restrictions that program places on colourizing but eh, I'll go with what you say). I love the colours you used! =)

Yeah, you can't delete from the shape areas (I used the pen tool) as easily as you can in Photoshop (that's why the eyelash looks like that). I had to improvise feathering with Gaussian blurring, LOL, I think that was crafty. I tried to put blush on her...that was grotesque. There aren't any blending options, other than change transparency/blending mode. Hmm...what else? I can't remember, I'm on a laptop at school so I don't have a ready reference at hand.

That still looks good. & Yes, photoshop is the way to go! I've never tried Illustrator, but Carrie you've inspired me to use it. happy.gif

Oh yes, Illustrator is wonderful. It's not so good for photo editing, but it's the only thing I use for my vectors/lineart/etc.

And thanks for your compliments everyone. I plan on re-doing this in photoshop and then submitting it to a challenge site. Wish me luck!
