This is kinda weird but I was talking with my friend about heaven and we came across a question; can you still go to heaven if you commit suicide?(you would obviously already believe and God and all)
I know it's a weird question but I was just wondering what your opinions were about that. ![]() |

im not quite religious in any way but i heard from a friend of mine that commiting sucide in Christian Religion is the worst sin possible. She said something like commiting suicide is basically throwing away the life that god gave you or something around that.

I mean, with suicide you are taking away your own life, but with murder, you are throwing away the life of someone else. That seems a tad bit worse. On the whole question of whether or not suicide is a sin, I would think it would be. If you are a religious person who believes in God, then suicide would basically be "playing God" and going against him. Then again, perhaps you commiting suicide is part of God's original plan. It's all about what you believe, I suppose. |

If you are a religious person who believes in God, then suicide would basically be "playing God" and going against him. Then again, perhaps you commiting suicide is part of God's original plan. It's all about what you believe, I suppose. First of all, I have to say that suicide is indeed a mortal sin. I've asked my pastor [ I'm a Christian, very religious person. ] about the whole topic and what I know about the sinof suicide I got from her. So I', sure I don't have the the whole thing on it. She said that ( as stated before ) suicide is a sin, and therefore since you have killed yourself,t here is no way of asking forgiveness. Suicide is murder [ I do believe it said something like that in the Bible. ]. It's basically murdering yourself [ and since the poster above said that murdering a person is the worst thing you can do, suicide is no difference. ], and of course, murdering is against the Ten Commandments. But there would be some more debate about the whole "God's Plan" thing, but I will go on the skeptical side of that, my personal reasons. And there is more to this suicide thing I've learned of course, but I'm rathar lazy. |
