We're going to do this just like the CB Winter Ball.
![]() First, you all pick your dates. You can ask people in this thread or PM them. Then, on the date of the Spring Fling, we all bombard the chat and have lots of fun. There will also be voting for the Spring Fling King and Queen and Cutest Couple. So, hurry up and pick those dates, or someone else might just snatch up the person you want first! ![]() The date of the Spring Fling will be Saturday, April 8, throughout the day. You must all pick your dates by Wednesday, April 5. |

can i point this out linda belle, since it's posted on... HITHERSTON
![]() QUOTE(meli on hitherston) Relations with CreateBlog.com way to keep the tradition of the "animosity" and "hostility" going.
Most of you, especially the older members and those who were with us at Retrofied, know that all three admins of this site met at createblog.com. Most people consider Hitherston to be a branch-off of Createblog. Lately there has been a lot of animosity between the two forums, especially when Hitherston was released at the same time as CB3. Suddenly, both forums, which had been walking on ice to begin with, found themselves providing the same kinds of free resources, and competition and hostility blossomed. Do we need the hostility? Does Createblog become a better forum by hating us? And do we become a better forum for bad-mouthing them? Createblog, almost by definition, caters to the needs and education of the blogging crowd. That is what CB was created for. Yes, it has branched out since the original creation in December 2003, but even a first glance at CB will show you resources for MySpace, Xanga, LiveJournal, and other blogging websites. Hitherston, by definition, was created as a focus forum, mostly for the design of personal websites and portfolios, and the graphics that go with it. As the co-creator, I can attest to the fact that we went out of our way to make sure that we would stay out of CB's "domain," and this is why we never added subforums for blogging sites, like many offshoots of CB tend to do. With this in mind, I don't see why/how we should be so hostile to each other. To make a possibly cheesy comparison, America is an offshoot of Britain, but we're at least civil to each other. To my forum members, I say this; please, no more bad-mouthing Createblog on this forum. If I, or the other admins see this, there will be personal merit losses and other disciplinary measures. I am serious. I don't care what you say in your AIM chats or on your own domains, but I do not want to see it here. And to any Createblog members who see this (and I am sending this to the approprate leadership at CB), please, let's be friends. Maybe we should try and replace "competing site" with "affiliate", shake hands, and call it a day. |
