im currently reading "Go Ask Alice" (which is a true diary about a 15-year-old teen that's on drugs...pleasant, right?) and "Cut" (about someone that...cuts. even more pleasant)
i seem to be drawn to books about teenagers with common problems. especially diaries. even though i don't (and never will) do drugs, alcohol, or smoke...it still intrigues me. my friend was the one that has been buying books like this, including others like "The perks of being a Wallflower" and "Crank". She lets me borrow them after she reads them...and i love them. Have you read any of these books or ones similar to them? |

Just logged into this blog. Thanks for being at least intrested.
My brother, Alden Barrett did leave a journal recounting the last 6 months of his life, along with poems, letters, a red Frisbee, a fringed-leather "stash pouch", and a few other items. Beatrice Sparks did use 21 entries from Alden's journal to write "Jay's Journal". She fabricated 80% of "Jay's Journal", including any satanic rituals, cattle mutiation, drinking or bathing in blood, killing cats rituistically, levitating kitchen utensils, etc., which leads me to believe that her other works, such as "Go Ask Alice" were ficitionalized as well. On comparing "Jay's Journal" and "Go ask Alice" side by side, you can see the obvious writing style similarities. if you would like to see a copy of Alden's original journal you need to read my book, "a Place in the Sun: The Truth Behind Jay's Journal. Write me at apits_71@hotmail.com for more information. |
