I already posted this in the Have a Virus? thread, but no one noticed it.
But yeah, so I don't think I have a virus, but my computer is still REALLY slow. I've tried deleting any programs I don't use anymore, I defragment the harddrive on a daily basis, I do a full-system scan for viruses every week, and I check for spyware also everyday. And my laptop is STILL slow as f**k. It's annoying. It takes like 10 minutes for it to load up and everything. Help? |

I know, but it was never this laggy before I started using the internet on it..
What does RPM stand for? And, is there anyway I can stop these resource-hogging programs from automatically loading up? |

It's the speed at which the motor spins the disk platter on the hard drive. Higher RPM means better read/write times. You can go into msconfig and uncheck all the processes you don't want to launch at startup. |
