has anyone else made a catapult or trebuchet?

i made one this weekend that launches 80 feet. i'm aiming for 100 or more, so i still have a ways to go.

but it is rather fun attacking the neighbors.

i don't think the really mind.

we put a golfball into my neighbor's across the street and three door's down's garden.

but that was with pulling the arm by hand. we're limited as the the counterweight (it's for a competiton)

ahh, the joys of siege warfare.

i should get two catapults and have a war.
hurl tomatos at each other from 80 feet away.
that would be quite fun.


this makes me wish i lived in the north. i could so pull it out for a snowball fight. imagine, hitting someone 80 feet away!

yea, my catapult is 75 cm tall. just wait till i build one 3 meters tall... then it's not so much as "lets attack the neighbors", but lets attack the neighboring counties.

well, only if you live close to the county line.

but still.

i bet you with a 10 meter trebuchet i could attack my school, which is about a mile away.

i wonder if that's illegal.

oh well.

i want to try a flaming tennis ball now, filled with gasoline.

^ HAHA you know some pretty crazy people. Interesting thought though. I can already see these poor little kids going into class and going "Hi, Teacher! How are you today?" and then crazy Justin pulling out his trusty catapult and burning the school down to the ground.
