Long Exposures.

Yeah. I've been trying to figure them out for quiet a while. All i remember about how to do them is. put the camera on something sturdy, and set a long shutterspeed. i forget everything else

i would be taking pictures of traffic, and maybe just some really dark places.
and then i just got a new nikon 50mm 1.8 lense.. so ill be doing some stuff with that

That's tight, I've got that lens as well. A pretty darn nice lens, although you have to be a bit close to your subject because the lens is so short.

For traffic, I'm not sure if you would want to use reallllyyyy long shutter speeds else the pictures will just be blurs. And for dark/night, Tribal J_Rome summed it up.
