how do you get rid of the 'br' in textareas without taking away all the line breaks?

i mean like when i put in a code and i view the text area, there are a bunch of the br things, and i want to get rid of them without making the whole code like all together.

Thats because textareas show codes.. So the br tags show. I don't think there is a way around it. |
