What if you found out that you or your boy friend had an STD and didnt even know about it entill you got tested or got really really sick?
 I know its not something you really want to think about but I was and I just wanted to know what ever body else would do? I know theres nothing you can really do but other then that I could cry entill my heart couldent take it any more.  What would you do? |

Dump him. You don't want what he has. However, the statistics are startling. In some communities, STD rates are staggering. At my college, the HPV rate (HPV only manifests in 2% of cases, it's basically a recurring rash in the genitalia region) of infection is in almost 80% of sexually active students. If you have had, or are having sex, with someone who's been sexually active, there is not only a chance, but a probable chance, you will contract some kind of STD. The rub is that few are really noticable, or have outward affects. You don't die of most STD's. HIV, for instance, isn't an STD. Sex is just a method of transmittal. The subject of STD's is somewhat of a taboo, and the best protection is knowledge. |
