I've just started with my overlay and I'm already having problems...
Clickie I took out my overlay images and made it just blue to show where it will go (I want the actual layout to be a surprise when I get it right, lol). You may have to scroll down, but you'll see light gray box spanning the screen, presumably from the bottom links. I tried to hide them to get rid of the box, but it is still there. I tried overlaying a background image, which didn't work. The only thing that did work was overlaying an image, creating a horizontal scrollbar (I only did it to see if it would work, I knew that would happen). I feel like an idiot, but it's got me wanting to rip my hair out... |

I (think) I did what you said... I even just tried the coding in the link you have instead of what I used... it is doing the same thing. Are you able to load it yet? If not, here is a screenshot:
