My IT teacher told us today that the school has decided to giv econsideration to WRITING HOME TO PARENTS about the contents of people's blogs.
wtf? my friend kate and i were about to have afull blown argument with the teacher about it, were it not for rae sitting behind us chanting 'calm'. apparently it is part of their crackdown on bullying. and, because some of the younger students were READING THE BLOGS OF THE OLDER STUDENTS and 'getting ideas' there is a 13 year old prostitute at my school. i think its a bit late to worry about f**king bad influences from older years. *roar of rage* oh. i suppose you can discuss this, to give it some direction. i just wanted the rant |

Yeah, i go to a private school and my school hasn't done anything like that yet, but another private school nearby has basically been giving people detention for HAVING myspaces. Well not quite detention, but teachers will constantly ask them to stay after class and talk to them about it. that's f**king insane. by school codes, they ususally can't do anything if your content is distributed from outside of 20 feet from the school. since your home computer is more than 20 feet from the school, they shouldn't be able to do anything. but there's also that thing where they can punish for anything that happens outside of school if it disturbs school in any way. In 8th grade, this guy stole someone's watch and then got beat up for it outside of school, but the guy who beat the kid up got suspended anyway just because people were talking and you could see the bruies and whatnot. |
