I admit that I have subscribed to myself on my aim. I don't know why, but having that one extra name show up on your buddy list really makes me happy.

No, because I actually try to minimize, not maximize, the number of contacts on my buddy list, and I just waste space. I know I'm online, I know my away message, I know my buddy icon, and I know my profile, so what's the point?
