My IT teacher told us today that the school has decided to giv econsideration to WRITING HOME TO PARENTS about the contents of people's blogs.
wtf? my friend kate and i were about to have afull blown argument with the teacher about it, were it not for rae sitting behind us chanting 'calm'. apparently it is part of their crackdown on bullying. and, because some of the younger students were READING THE BLOGS OF THE OLDER STUDENTS and 'getting ideas' there is a 13 year old prostitute at my school. i think its a bit late to worry about f**king bad influences from older years. *roar of rage* oh. i suppose you can discuss this, to give it some direction. i just wanted the rant |

That is pretty rotten. I'm glad I'm not in high school and I don't have to put up with that kind of stuff anymore. Colleges actually encourage free speech.
There was a senior at my old high school who in big trouble last year for stuff he wrote on the Internet. He was nearly sued, and the local police even launched an investigation. Arguably some of his posts bordered on libel, but it was all in good fun—except for the targets of his jokes, I guess. At my university, there have been a few reports of students getting in trouble for pictures they posted on Facebook, though, although the administration claims that those reports are untrue. |
