i was just wondering if anyone around CB here has been in experienced songwriting or is used too Songwriting over the years ? as for me i`ve just recently started with 3 songs in my mind half of each song re written part not sure where or wether it should be written out . now the big question is do you establish and start with the words/hooks/phrasing (the writing part) and then create music notes melody based on the words or do you create the words based on the music notes melody and chords? which is a better way or is it different for everyone ? i usually start gaining ideas from my music first rather then gaining music from my words .

i'm not necessarily a "songwriter/lyricist." i prefer being called a composer. well, because i don't write any contemporary pop/rock/modern music. i've finished 2 full orchestra compositions, one piano piece, and one choral piece.
but if i were to write songs with lyrics, i would usually compose the music first before i wrote the lyrics. |
