Sex-harass suspension of 1st grader stirs debate
Experts say kids his age don’t understand; mother is outraged A 6-year-old boy is getting a lesson on the meaning of sexual harassment long before he’ll be able to spell it. The first-grader was suspended for three days for sexual harassment after he put two fingers inside a classmate’s waistband, school officials told his mother, Berthena Dorinvil. 3 day suspension?? I got a 2 day suspension for BURNING someone with a lighter. I'm not saying this because I'm proud of it; I'm just saying it to prove my point. This is insane, really. I think the debate should be more about the fact that this child is getting a 3 day suspension for something that's barely a level 3 offense and not the fact that he's too young to know about sex.
