Personal Composition Essay Help, People good at writing intros/thesis statements needed! Options

Anyways, I hate English. We're working on personal composition essays right now and I cannot write essays. Our teacher gave us two ridiculous topics which are like our final exam topics he said and we have to write an intro paragraph & one body paragraph for each.
Who's good at English and wants to help me write my intro? Cause I can deal with body paragraphs.
The topics are:
Memories influence our lives.
and
Certain experiences can mark the beginnings of maturity.
Who's good at writing thesis statements? Help! Sigh... I just need a good start...the first one I think I'm okay with...but I need help on that second topic. I'm not good at narrowing down topics because we can't be too general/vague.

Experiences that mark the beginning of maturity offer a peek beyond the veil of childhood restriction into the freedoms of the adult world. For many, turning 18, voting, registering for the draft and getting a driver's license are rites of passage that mark the onset of adulthood and the end of curfews and adult supervision. For me, an unassuming note that Christine Johnson passed to me in 3rd grade thrust me into the world of dating and my first lesson in maturity.
