erasing pencil lines

i scanned a drawing into photoshop and i have pen marks and the unwanted pencil lines on it...my friend said theres some tool on PS that gets rid of any light marks such as dust and pencil lines and then keeps the darker lines..how would i do it?

annd no..i dont want to use the eraser tool b/c there too many pencil lines to erase

If it's a plain black-and-white picture you can just turn the contrast way up or mess with the levels - that will get rid of a lot of the sketchy stuff and make the real edges darker, allowing you to color it easily if that's what you're trying to do.
