, okay i really dont understand what your trying to say. what you've been saying was "why cant the woman propose" and "the woman is just as capable as the man" yada yada yada. as if your indicating this another subtle sexist type of situation. Now, all im saying is, that i dont think this is that type of deal. because answer this, in what way is this situation saying that the woman is not as capable as the man? because the way i see it, the man is practically bowing to the woman in proposal, asking "will you marry me?" as his heart pounds hoping she says yes. And actually, wouldnt it seem more sexist if the woman had to kneel to the man? that seems closer to being sexist than the man kneeling to the woman donchathink? the irony in this is, after all the things men have done sexist to women in the past, when it comes to marriage, the woman actually makes the decision.

i would prefer the guy to ask only because of this: 1. it would save awkwardness 2.though its nerve racking, its something we usually look forward to, and women usually look forward to being asked more so than asking themselves.
