Do you ever feel there is a time where something irrelevant or small is happening, yet for some reason, you HAVE to do it?
For example, many people can't tand to have books/cutlery and stuff out of order in a room. Now, I'm not THAT bad, but I've noticed that when I'm drinking stuff at the computer, I have to wait until I've stopped drinking, because I HAVE to type with both hands...yes...I'm estranged...anyway, the other thing I HAVE to do is crack my knuckles, but that's more of a habbit. I USED to hate standing on cracks on the pavement, but not so much now, though.... I know that I don't HAVE to do these things, but I feel a strong need to do it, and if I don't, it'll just annoy me? I probably have a compulsive disorder... Anyway, do you have anything along these lines?... |

One thing that I always do is count syllables. Like when I hear someone talking, for instance, and I hear them say "My dad wants to buy me a coyote." I count all of the syllables, using my fingers to keep count. And I always try to see if it comes out as a multiple of five. Like the "My dad...coyote" thing has ten syllables. It annoys me when it isn't a multiple of five.
I count the stairs I climb up. Sometimes I just have to touch things. Like last week, we went to Chili's and my cousin ordered fajitas that come on that black skillet thingie, and they had the piece of thick cloth that covered the handle so you don't burn yourself. So this cloth was decorated with pictures of red and green chili peppers, and I just had to touch it, for some reason. Melissa kinda looked at me odd then. Whenever I'm walking or running by myself, I almost always think of triads in my head, going up a half step each time. Like at first it would be "C-E-G" for C major, and then I'd do the minor triad, and then go to "C#-E#-G#" for C# major, and then minor, and then to D. Sometimes I find myself continuously clicking my computer mouse, thinking "Oh, I didn't click that right, I better do it again" and then my finger's rapidly tapping against the mouse just to "tap it right." I have to tear whatever I eat. I can't stand to bite into sandwiches, or bread, or anything else, so I tear it into pieces. But hey, it could be worse. My friend conjugates spanish verbs when she swims laps. |
