i've noticed many, many, many birthday threads in the lounge, so why not have a birthday forum?
edit// actually, what about a "personal announcements" thread? |

I actually think this is a good idea, maybe for a subforum in announcements that all members could post in when they have something important that happened to them, such as a family member dying or having a birthday or getting accepted to a college...anything that other members would be concerned about.
Why is this so bad? ![]() |

QUOTE(disco infiltrator @ Feb 9 2006, 10:27 PM) I actually think this is a good idea, maybe for a subforum in announcements that all members could post in when they have something important that happened to them, such as a family member dying or having a birthday or getting accepted to a college...anything that other members would be concerned about. Why is this so bad? ![]() Yeah, but there's only so many times one person could say "HEY I'VE BEEN ACCEPTED TO COLLEGE" before it gets to be a bit repetitive. The same sort of logic I guess could be applied to why have birthday announcements in the first place, but they don't happen that often and like someone said before, they just die out. And why have a forum full of dead topics? And then "my ____ died" might be better suited to the relationship forum or the lounge, depending on how the main idea of the thread is phrased. I dunno, it just doesn't seem too logical to me to have a forum dedicated entirely to personal business. |
