Okay I got this essay to write by May and the question is "Are the freedoms named in the First Amendment fundamental and if so why?" I need other people views because I don't think mine is right..But what do you guys think?

Tell me what this is for first. Then, I'll answer. This sounds like the Idea of America Essay Contest. I quote, from the official scholarship website:
